2013…mission and vision

Women’s ministry at BCC exists… to equip and encourage women to experience growth THROUGH Christ in their daily lives.

Our women’s ministry team revised this mission statement earlier this year and it is designed to guide our events and activities as we plan.  We are beginning to put together our goals for 2013 and the vision bears additional review.

  • Equip– to provide with tools, prepare for service
    • We realize our responsibility to assist women in discovering the skills, gifts, and talents that God has provided for them to use for service and His glory.  As we study scripture and serve together, we are able to help each other walk in the ministry that God has called us to pursue.
      • Eph. 4:11-16
      • Heb. 13:21
  • Encourage– to inspire with courage, spur on
    • When the events of life cause women to become uncertain or dismayed, we recognize that other women can help to fight off discouragement.  We can act as mentors and share our experiences of God’s provision and faithfulness.
      • 1 Thess 5:11
  • Experience– to make skillful or wise through practice
    • We endeavor to actually live out what we are learning (becoming like Jesus from Scripture, prayer, and service) so that we become more Christlike in word and deed.
      • 2 Cor. 3:18
    • Joy and Growth THROUGH Christ
      • As a fruit of the spirit that develops in our lives, we have the promise of both an emotion (Rom 5:2) and action (Phil 4:4) that originates from Christ and THROUGH Christ (John 15:11)
      • Growth in faith, hope, and love occurs naturally as we follow Christ (Col. 1:10, 2 Pet. 1:5-8)
    • daily lives
      • Discipleship is more than Sunday mornings.  Following Christ should impact our everyday lives as we endeavor to take the gospel outside the walls of the church to those we meet….our families, our co-workers, our neighbors and friends.

As we plan for this ministry, these are the core beliefs that guide our actions.  Join us in prayer as we seek how God would guide us in the coming months and as we remain open and flexible to His leading.
